Aws M. Younus

Aws M. Younus is a third-generation lawyer with more than 30 years of legal experience across Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and the wider Middle East. He advises corporations, financial institutions, investors, entrepreneurs and private clients on corporate and commercial law, arbitration, construction, real estate, banking and finance, regulatory compliance and complex cross-border legal matters.

Mr. Younus is a Licensed Legal Consultant registered with the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department (Registration No. L-01662), holding Practising status with Unrestricted areas of specialisation. He is also registered with the DIFC Courts, holding Active Part I Registration, Active Part II Registration (Provisional) and Active Draftsman Registration, reflecting his professional standing within Dubai’s legal framework.

Mr. Younus commenced his legal career in Iraq before establishing his practice in the United Arab Emirates, where he has developed extensive experience advising local, regional and international clients. During his international practice, he worked with Meyer-Reumann Legal Consultants in Dubai, advising on international commercial matters and gaining experience on matters involving internationally recognised organisations, including Mercedes-Benz, Lufthansa and Siemens, together with diplomatic missions operating throughout the Middle East and North Africa. He also served as Legal Consultant to the Embassies of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Switzerland in Iraq, providing legal advice on commercial and regulatory matters. 

Throughout his career, Mr. Younus has held senior legal and executive positions, including Head of Legal Affairs at Tanmiyat Real Estate Company and Senior Partner at Prestige Advocates & Legal Consultants. He has advised developers, multinational corporations, financial institutions, government entities and private investors on commercial transactions, construction and infrastructure projects, corporate structuring, real estate development and strategic legal matters.

Mr. Younus has substantial experience acting as counsel in proceedings conducted under the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), as well as other arbitration and dispute resolution forums, involving commercial, construction and real estate disputes. His work includes arbitration strategy, procedural submissions, contractual disputes, negotiations, expert coordination and dispute management. He also advises clients on corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, employment, regulatory compliance and legal risk management, and has extensive experience preparing and negotiating complex commercial agreements and bilingual legal documentation in Arabic and English.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Younus has built and led multidisciplinary legal teams serving clients across the United Arab Emirates and the wider region. He is recognised for combining strategic legal insight with commercially focused advice, delivering practical legal solutions while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and client confidentiality.
